Room for new comedy

BBC Three pilot set entirely in a bedroom

BBC Three is to make a new comedy pilot set entirely in a couple's bedroom.

Young, Unemployed and Lazy will star Being Human actor Russell Tovey, Suburban Shootout’s Sarah Solemani and Kerry Howard, who can currently be seen playing Reggie Perrin’s secretary Vicky.

The show – written by Stefan Golaszewski of sketch grouo Cowards - is billed as ‘an acutely observed, forensically honest, warts-and-all look at a working-class couple in their mid-20s’.

Producer Kenton Allen said: ‘Stefan's searingly funny script subverts the TV couple like you've never seen before. He not only captures the essence of young Britain today but portrays – in a very funny and extremely frank way – a modern sexual relationship.

‘Russell and Sarah have a brilliant chemistry that feels very fresh and very truthful.’

The pilot will be produced by Big Talk, the company that made Simon Pegg’s Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
