Jim Davidson back on TV

Putting his comedy under the spotlight

Jim Davidson is to make a return to TV in a one-off reality show called: So You Think I'm An A***hole.

In the Virgin 1 programme, Davidson will meet a number of famous gay, black and female mentors who will challenge his material and try to change his views.

The show will be filmed in Dubai - where Davidson fled to avoid paying tax - and across the UK and will culminate with a stand-up performance to determine whether Davidson's style of comedy is acceptable any more.

Daniela Neumann,Virgin 1's director of programmes, said: 'To many, Jim's views are deeply offensive, but he doesn't understand why. But now, I do have to take my hat off to him as he is prepared to go out of his comfort zone to immerse himself with the very people he has been accused of prejudice against, and question whether he needs to change his views. It should be an explosive show.'

The comedian has not appeared on TV since 2007, when he was axed from ITV1's Hell's Kitchen his homophobic comments, including using the word 'shirt-lifter'.
