Vegas gets gout again
Benidorm filming disrupted
Johnny Vegas has reportedly suffered another bout of gout while filming the ITV sitcom Benidorm.Production was disrupted last week after the 37-year-old star was struck down with the condition, leaving him unable to perform some of his more energetic scenes.
An unnamed ITV source told the Daily Star Sunday: ‘We have moved some scenes forward and Johnny got a few days off while he recovered.
‘It’s ironic that this has happened now, as he’s in the best shape he’s been for years.’
Vegas was diagnosed with gout – a build-up of acids around joints and tendons that causes burning pain and swelling – last year. It can be made worse by over-eating and alcohol. When he last contracted the condition it was down to his love of cheese, rather than booze.
