Russell Brand rings another grandparent

...but this time he's nice

Russell Brand has called another grandparent on a radio show, to prove he can be well-behaved.

The comic sent up the calls he made to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs when he appeared as a guest on Absolute Radio today.

He called the grandmother of presenter Annabel Port, who said: "I can't hear very well unfortunately."

Brand replied: 'Oh right, it's okay, I will speak very clearly and mostly in expletives.'

The comic was forced to quit his BBC Radio 2 show after he and Jonathan Ross left messages on Sachs's answerphone, claiming Brand had slept with Sachs's granddaughter.

But today Brand said only: 'I'm just ringing to say that you ought to be very proud of Annabel, she's a lovely, lovely young lady...

'I would like to convey to you absolute respect, high regard and love for you and all people of your generation and all the people of earth and grandparents everywhere.'

He went on to sing: 'Grandma, we love you, grandma we do.'

And he joked: 'Because if it goes to an answerphone message, that's where things can go wrong.'

Here is the clip. The call comes about two-thirds of the way in:
