Vic Reeves blasts Frankie Boyle

Attack on 'grubby' comics who swear

Vic Reeves has blasted Frankie Boyle in the ongoing debate about swearing in comedy.

The Shooting Stars host branded foul-mouthed comics ‘grubby and lazy’, adding that he thinks there is far too much swearing on telly.

He told The Sun ‘It’s really easy to do dirty jokes and swear for a laugh but it’s a lot more difficult to do clean stuff.

‘People should find other ways to be funny. If you need to use coarse language, why not invent it?”

Of Boyle, Vic said he had no place on Mock The Week. ‘Frankie would be better off in a working men’s club,’ he said. ‘No one’s shocked any more.’

Reeves was speaking to promote the return of Shooting Stars – with team captains Ulrika Jonsson and Jack Dee – to BBC Two tonight.
