'No contest' to drink-drive rap

Irrera's $1700 fine

Dom Irrera has reportedly admitted to his drink-driving case in California

The Italian-American comic has pleaded no contest to driving under the influence, gossip website TMZ.com reports. He was stopped by police in Los Angeles in September.

Irrera has been sentenced to three years probation and will have to attend alcohol education classes and pay a $1700 fine.

The 60-year-old has appeared at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and Kilkenny’s Cat Laughs Festival more often than any other American comic, and his screen credits include playing annoying prop comic Ronnie Kaye in Seinfeld.
