Serafinowicz lands Hollywood role

Relationship comedy shooting now

Peter Serafinowicz has landed a key role in a new Hollywood comedy.

He will be joining Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn in the film Couples’ Retreat, currently being made by Universal.

Serafinowicz will play the owner of a tropical island resort where couples go to try to patch up their ailing relationship.

Although he provided the voice of Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, this will be his first major appearance in an American film. He previously played Pete in Britcom Shaun of the Dead and had cameos in such films as Run Fatboy Run.

Couples’ Retreat is being directed by Peter Billingsley, who was one of the executive producers on the recent Iron Man movie. Other stars already signed up include Heroes actress Kristen Bell, Leon star Jean Reno and Sex And The City’s Kristin Davis.

Filming started last week in Bora Bora and is due to take nine weeks, with the latter stages being shot in Los Angeles.
