McIntyre rushed to hospital

Comic dislocates shoulder during gig

Michael McIntyre was taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder after falling on stage at Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall on Thursday night.

The comic was running across the stage after returning for his encore when he stumbled and landed badly.

He was taken to the city’s New Cross Hospital by ambulance but is now recovering at home in London.

The injury caused him to cancel his show at the Belfast Festival on Friday.

Festival director Graeme Farrow said: 'It’s obviously a major disappointment for all of his fans. Michael is very sorry that he couldn't make it last night but has promised to reschedule his visit to Belfast at some point in the very near future.’
