BBC pays tribute to Perkins

Night of programmes celebrates his work

BBC Two is to dedicate a night of programmes to respected comedy producer Geoffrey Perkins next month.

The broadcaster will even air an episode of rival broadcaster Channel 4’s Father Ted as part of the tribute evening on Saturday November 8.

The line-up will also include a one-off Comedy Connections show to trace how far his influence spread through the world of comedy. Among those paying tribute will be Catherine Tate, Paul Whitehouse, Harry Enfield, Angus Deayton, Graham Linehan and Ben Elton.

The evening will feature episodes of a number of shows he was involved with, including The Catherine Tate Show and The Fast Show.

Perkins died in a road accident in London in August, aged just 55.
