Lucas lands role in medieval comedy

Matt Lucas has landed a role in a new TV comedy set in medieval times.

The Little Britain star is to play a villain called Dongalor in the bizarre comedy Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire.

Former EastEnder Sean Maguire plays the reluctant hero Krod, described as a 'sensitive, clueless freedom fighter'.

The six-episode series is being shot in Hungary by US network Comedy Central, and will air on BBC Two later this year.
