Comedy scores ratings hits

Viewers flock to Mock The Week

Comedy shows had a good night in the ratings last night – with Mock The Week proving the biggest hit.

The Dara O’Briain-fronted panel show ensured BBC2 overtook all other channels at 9pm, narrowly seeing off Big Brother, BBC One documentary SuperDoctors and ITV1’s Trinny and Susannah show.

Its audience of 3,268,000 was just 14,000 ahead of Channel 4.

Meanwhile, BBC Three’s new sketch show The Wrong Door attracted the highest ever audience for the launch of a comedy on the channel.

An average of 546,000 viewers tuned in over the half hour from 10.30pm, for a series of skits which places high-tech computer-generated effects into everyday scenarios.
