The Office: the movie

...but only in German

The Office is coming to the big screen… but in German.

Stromberg, the German adaptation of Ricky Gervais’s sitcom, is to be made into a feature film.

Ralf Husmann, the writer of the German TV series, will pen the movie, too, and Christoph Maria Herbst, who took the David Brent role in Germany, will again star as the incompetent boss

The full-length version will be the finale to the sitcom's fourth season, according the Hollywood Reporter.

Stromberg has already run for three series on Pro7, meaning it has run longer than the BBC original, and has spawned a spinoff, Beruhmt (Famous) revolving around Ernie, the German version of Mackenzie Crook’s Gareth. Beruhmt will air next year.
