Apatow finds his Funny People

Cast of stand-up movie revealed

More details have been revealed about the forthcoming Adam Sandler movie about stand-up.

Director Judd Apatow has recruited Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Leslie Mann to join the cast. All three worked with him on The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up.

Also appearing will be Eric Bana, who is known for his brooding roles in Hulk and Troy, but who started his career as a stand-up in Australia. Jason Schwartzman, who played Ringo Star in the recent comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, has also joined the cast.

The film will be called Funny People, and will revolve around a comedian who has a near-death experience.

Shooting begins in Los Angeles in September, Hollywood trade magazine Variety reports, ready for release in 2009.
