ITV orders pilot episode

Men Behaving Badly writer SimonNye is working on a new ITV1 comedy, based around a teenager’s video diary.

Adam’s Family revolves around a boy who has to adapt to a new family after one of his parents remarries.

ITV has ordered a pilot episode of the company from Caryn Mandabach Productions, set up by a top American producer to develop TV programmes in the UK.

Once the ITV pilot is completed, Mandabach- who previously worked on The Cosby Show, Roseanne, 3rd Rock From The Sun and That 70s Show- intends to tout the format rights back to America, Hollywood trade journal Variety reports.

The script was originally written for the BBC by Maya Forbes, Jack Williams and Harry Williams – but Nye is reworking it for ITV.
