Boosh festival unveils first bands

Fielding books his hero

The first acts have been unveiled for the Mighty Boosh’s festival.

The Charlatans and Gary Numan are among the music acts announced for the open-air event near Tonbridge, Kent, on July 5.

The Boosh's Noel Fielding told the NME: ‘Having Gary on board is mental! He is a hero of mine and was always a first choice, having him perform at our festival is almost surreal.’

The Boosh are headlining the festival themselves, and Fielding added: ‘We've never played a music festival before and a comic has never headlined at a festival before, so we are seizing the opportunity and doing both.’

Texan ‘grime fusion’ band White Denim and avant garde jazz outfit Polar Bear are also on the bill.
