More Pints Of Lager

Star reveals eight series in the works

The BBC is to make an eighth series of Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, star Will Mellor has confirmed.

Fans believed the show was over after the finale of the seventh series, which aired last month, tied up most of the plot’s loose ends.

But Mellor, who plays Gaz Wilkinson, says the cast are scheduled to record another season from November.

‘We're doing another series in November,’ he told Metro. ‘Every series ends with what seems like the very final episode, just in case the cast don't want to do another one.

‘We film it from November to January, which is a dead period in television so we’re all around to do it.’

He also admitted that the live episode that launched the last series had been stressful, saying: ‘After the event it was great, but beforehand we were terrified. They made me juggle flaming batons and then eat fire. I burnt the shit out of my tongue. Then I had to ride a mini motorbike.

‘Susan Nickson, the writer, wanted to us to do as many difficult things as possible during the live show to see what would go wrong.’

A total of 62 episodes of Two Pints have already been made since the show launched in 2001.
