JK Rowling plans stand-up novel

Harry Potter author JK Rowling says she has long wanted to write a novel about a stand-up.

But the millionaire says that she has a couple of other books she wants to tackle first.

‘I've always wanted to write a novel about a stand-up comedian,’ she revealed in an interview with Student newspaper in her native Edinburgh.

‘That is not what I'm writing, though, so if something comes out next week, that's not me, I'm not doing it. But for ages, I had a real thing about it.’

Rowling is currently working on two other projects: one she dubbed a 'political fairytale' while the other is a more adult-orientated story.

She attended last year’s British Comedy Awards, which could have proved useful research – not to mention having her home town invaded by hundreds of comedians every August.
