Where is he now?

Hunt for missing stand-up after 12 years

Winning the very first Comedian Of The Year competition at the Leicester Comedy Festival might have seemed like a passport to fame for stand-up Stevie Knuckles.

But while subsequent victors - including Johnny Vegas, Mitch Benn and Jason Manford - have gone on to much greater things, Knuckles has vanished to such an extent that even festival organisers don’t know where he is.

Now they have put out a desperate appeal to try to track down Knuckles – which is thought to be his real name – for a reunion of everyone who has won the competition.

Festival director Geoff Rowe, pictured, said he remembered Knuckles’s winning act in 1995 as being ‘fairly manic and frenzied’.

‘I’m trying to track him down by any method I can think of – but I’ve had no joy yet,’ he added.

‘He’s the only winner we don’t have a contact for, and we're trying to reunite past winners for a special event as part of our 15th birthday in February.

‘I’m beginning to feel like Justin Lee Collins in his Reunite The A Team show.’
