Would I Lie To You? returns. Honest

New series for Deayton panel show

BBC One has ordered a second series of Angus Deayton’s panel show Would I Lie To You?

Team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack will also return for the new batch of eight episodes, in which the teams have to determine which facts and personal anecdotes are true, and which are fabricated.

Dara O'Briain, Rob Brydon and Jimmy Carr have been lined up as guests, according to trade magazine Broadcast.

The show marked Deayton's return to BBC panel shows after he was shamed into leaving Have I Got News For You in 2002, amid tabloid stories about cocaine and prostitutes. Earlier this month, the show was criticised by broadcast watchdogs for a ‘‘pungently personal’ joke Deayton cracked about Sir Jimmy Savile.

The first series of Would I Lie To You?, made by independent production company Zeppotron, attacted an average audience of three million in its Saturday night slot.
