Solid start for BBC2's comedy line-up

BBC2's new ‘Thursdays are funny’ comedy line-up made a solid, but unspectacular, start in the ratings.

Jennifer Saunders’ new comedy The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle and The Peter Serafinowicz Show both attracted a marginal 100,000 viewers less than the average for their time slots.

The debut of Saunders’ new confrontational TV host was seen by 1.8 million viewers, nine per cent of the total audience, at 9pm.

Figures slipped slightly for Serafinowicz at 9.30pm, who attracted still-respectable 1.5 million viewers and a seven per cent share.

The final show in the line-up, a repeat of That Mitchell and Webb Look drew 1.3 million and seven per cent.
