Thick's second chance

US networks still interested

Hopes for a US version of The Thick Of It have been revived, despite the failure of a pilot episode.

America’s ABC network made its own version of Armando Iannucci’s satire, but last month decided not to pick it up for a full series.

However, several other broadcasters - including NBC, Showtime and HBO – are said to be interested in buying the format from the BBC and co-producers Sony.

Showtime had been interested in the comedy from early on, but lost out after a bidding war with ABC, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
