ITV orders call centre sitcom

Sanjeev Bhaskar is set to star in a new ITV sitcom set in an Indian call centre.

The network has ordered a pilot episode of Mumbai Calling, which the Kumars star also wrote, alongside veterans Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran.

Bhaskar will play Kenny, a British born Indian transferred to Mumbai, and the pilot will be shot in both Britain and India.

Nitin Ganatra, who starred in the film Bride and Prejudice, also has a role in the sitcom, which was previously known as Hello, Delhi

The pilot – which is being made by independent producer, Allan McKeown Presents, alongside Indian company Grey Cells Entertainment – is expected to be broadcast later this year, with the possibility of a series to follow.
