Coogan's shorts

New films for digital TV

Steve Coogan is to appear in a new series of eight comedy shorts for digital channel UKTV G2.

The comic will be fronting a Classic Coogan Weekend on the station next month to mark its purchase of his latest show, Saxondale.

The series will air alongside classic episodes of I’m Alan Partridge, Coogan’s Run, The Tony Ferrino Phenomenon and Three Fights, Two Weddings and a Funeral.

But the highlight for fans will be the new short films that will play between episodes, starring Coogan and made by his production company Baby Cow .

Channel head Steve North said: ‘Steve Coogan is a living legend and hugely popular with our male viewers, so it’s a real coup for us to working with him.’

Coogan added: ‘UKTV G2 shows some of the finest comedy made in the UK, so its an absolute honour for me to be included amongst talent of this calibre.

‘I would just like to say that I’m so proud that my shows, which are a part of me and very dear to my heart, are not only being played again on UKTV G2, but also available on DVD in most outlets.’
