Perrier-winner Laura Solon is to join three other rising comedy stars for a new TV sketch show.

A pilot episode of The 3rd XI will be shot for the BBC later this month, with hopes to make it a series.

The rest of the regular cast are Katherine Parkison, who played Jen in Channel 4’s IT Crowd; stand-up Marek Larwood, who is one third of the We Are Klang sketch troupe; and former Perrier best newcomer Ben Willbond.

Solon became only the second female winner of the Perrier in 2005, a decade after Jenny Eclair, and is currently starring in her own Radio 4 comedy Talking And Not Talking

The pilot will be filmed in front of an audience Teddington Studios, South West London, on February 18.
