Vicar of Dibley tops Christmas viewing

The Vicar of Dibley was the most-watched TV programme on Christmas Day, according to overnight ratings.

The Dawn French sitcom was seen by 11.4million viewers on BBC One at 9.30pm - 700,000 more than the second-placed show, the EastEnders episode in which Pauline Fowler died, that aired immediately before it.

Little Britain Abroad also fared well, attracting 8.4million viewers in the No. 6 slot.

And comedy also topped the ratings for non-terrestrial TV shows, with Chrissytittybangbang attracting 626,000 viewers.
