Five buys Whose Line?

88 US episodes to air from January

Channel Five has bought the rights to 88 episodes of the US version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

The improvised comedy show will air on its digital channel Five US from January.

The show started out on Radio 4 with Clive Anderson in the chair, before launching on Channel 4 in 1988.

The UK version last aired in 1998, the same year the American version started. New episodes of that show were still being made up to last Christmas.

Five US will run the show, hosted by Drew Carey, over the next two years.
