Eric dismisses Python reunion

Even though all the surviving members of the team will be attending the first night of his Spamalot musical in the West End next week, Idle says he doesn’t want to work with them again.

He reportedly said: ‘All this talk about, “You guys should get back together,”’ is a complete load of bollocks.

‘And let's not forget, when we were together, there were lots of people who fucking hated us.

Idle also told the Los Angeles Daily News last week: ‘I think the reason people ask that question is that they're very reluctant to part with their youth.

‘They want to be back there when they were young and there was a Python film coming out. It's unrealistic and undesirable because you just can't go back in time’

Michael Palin had recently said that he, Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones were keen to work on a film together again. It is not known whether John Cleese would be interested.
