After Rodney

New sitcom for Lyndhurst

Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas Lyndhurst is to star in a new sitcom from My Family creator Fred Barron.

After You've Gone is the second comedy BBC One has commissioned on the back of its recent raft of pilots, following an order for Omid Djalili’s sketch and stand-up show.

In his first sitcom since Goodnight Sweetheart ended in 1999, Lyndhurst will play a divorced dad called Jimmy who ends up living with his mother-in-law, after his ex-wife takes her nursing skills to a third world natural, disaster zone.

Acorn Antiques’s Celia Imrie plays the mother-in-law, while the daughter will be played by Dani Harmer, who starred as Tracy Beaker in the BBC children's drama.
