Julian to host archive comedy weekend
Julian Clary is to interview stars of Carry On films and Fawlty Towers for a UKTV Gild Britcom weekend.
The comic will front three ten-minute and 27 five-minute slots for the archive channel over the late August Bank holiday weekend.
Programmes, all based on the theme of British seaside humour, will include three Carry On films, Are You Being Served?, Fawlty Towers, Little Britain, Blackadder and One Foot in the Grave.
Julian Clary’s Britcom Weekend has been ordered by UKTV commissioning executive Diana Howie.
She said: ‘As well as providing a fresh context and lots of original comedy, these programmes will challenge the viewer perceptions of the channel as well as providing lots of insight to the shows across the weekend.’
