Comedy audiences grow

Ratings boost for BBC2 shows

Audiences for BBC Two’s Monday-night comedy line-up are growing in the face of a glut of reality TV shows.

Scottish sitcom Still Game, a rerun of the Catherine Tate Show and Steve Coogan's Saxondale are all attracting hundreds of thousands of extra viewers.

The scripted comedies were up against Big Brother, Love Island and Only Fools On Horses in the 9pm to 10.30pm slot last night.

And they all put on one or two percentage points from their ratings figures from the previous week.

Still Game, pictured, had 2.3 million viewers - up 600,000 viewers on last Monday; Catherine Tate was up 400,000 to 2 million and Saxondale was up 300,000 to 1.3 million.
