C4's new topical comedy show

Channel 4 is working on a new series of half-hour comedy films  about celebrities in the news

Each weekly episode of Star Stories would feature the same core cast, and have its own self-contained story- prompting comparisons with the work of The Comic Strip Presents…

Six episodes are on the cards, due for broadcast later this year –possibly on E4 before transferring to the main channel

Channel 4’s director of programmes Kevin Lygo, pictured, told actors’ newspaper The Stage the show would be ‘light hearted’ and ‘based on stories in Heat magazine’

He added: ‘’There will be six different comic actors and each week there is a half hour story on some real people that have been in the headlines. So maybe Brad and Angelina, Sadie, Sienna and Jude - in a style a bit like The Comic Strip.’

Objective Productions, the company behind Peep Show, will make the programmes, the newspaper reports.
