Burns lands new radio job

Stand-up Greg Burns has been signed up by Virgin Radio, a month after leaving his job at Heart FM.

The comic will present the Sunday afternoon 1-4pm slot before Al Murray’s show, as well as fronting overnight shows on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. He will also stand in for other DJs when they are away.

Burns had been working for London’s Heart for seven years, hosting the drivetime show for the last four.

However he was last month replaced by former Radio 1 DJ  Emma B, who joined the station in December as his co-host.

Virgin programme director Paul Jackson called Burns a ‘genuine guy who is into our kind of music’, but added that the station's main line-up of DJs would not be changing.
