The Dave-y Show

Gorman lands role on US satire

Dave Gorman has been tipped to become a regular face on The Daily Show after recording three segments for the spoof US news show.

Star Jon Stewart saw Gorman perform during the New York run of his Googlewhack Adventure show last year, and invited him to contribute to the series.

So he recorded two clips about statistics, and a third about the Queen’s birthday. Two have already aired on Comedy Central in the US and More4 in Britain, and the third has been kept back for future use.

An insider said ‘It could turn into a big thing with Dave becoming their regularly returning stats expert - like their version of Peter Snow.’

Writing on his blog from New York, Gorman said: ‘I recorded three segments in total - two based on the idea of statistical analysis, which is the real reason I'm contributing to the show, and one that only really happened because I was there with my English accent on the Queen's birthday

‘I’m a very happy man… It really feels like I'm a part of the show. The show that just happens to be one of my favourite shows in the world.’
