Photo sale for Amnesty

Original signed photos of comedians including Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard and Simon Pegg have been put up for auction on eBay in aid of Amnesty International

The pictures have all been taken by Rich Hardcastle, who specialises in portraits of comics – and has his own galleries on Chortle.

The other photos are of Gervais’s podcast team and Dave Gorman.

 Gervais said:  ‘This is such an important cause so it's nice to be involved in a small way, even if it does mean imposing another image of my fat face on the world.’

Rich Hardcastle has exhibited his work around the world and has some of his photography in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery. He also produced a  behind-the-scenes photo journal for Gervias's Extras .

The auction, which is here, will finish on Monday – and the podcast team picture is currently leading the bidding at £300.
