Thomson's last show

Late producer's idea is commissioned

The last comedy show devised by producer Harry Thompson before he died last year is to be made for BBC Three.

Pulling is a sitcom about a thirtysomething woman who ditches her reliable fiance to move in with a group of single girls.

Sharon Horgan, pictured, who co-presented the first series of the Friday Night Project, has been lined up to star in the six half-hour shows. Other roles have yet to be cast.

BBC Three ordered the sitcom, which was co-created by Horgan Thompson and playwright Dennis Kelly, from independent production house Silver River.

Company boss Daisy Goodwin told TV industry website broadcastnow.com Thompson was aware the comedy would be commissioned  before his death from cancer in November, at the age of 45.

She said the series would be "honest and unflinching but promised to ‘keep it funny’.
