Wood & Walters comedy awards honour

Victoria Wood and Julie Walters are to receive the British Comedy Award for Outstanding Contribution to Comedy next week.

The award celebrates their 25-year career together, starting with ITV's Talent in 1979 and spanning Wood and Walters, Victoria Wood As seen On TV, Dinnerladies right up to this year's Acorn Antiques West End musical .

They will both be attending the televised ceremony at The London Studios on Wednesday.
 
Other confirmed attendees include; Ricky Gervais, Les Dennis, Catherine Tate, Gina Riley and Jane Turner (Kath and Kim), Ronnie Corbett, Tamsin Greig and Simpsons creator Matt Groening.
