Why Cooper's super

New look at TV greats

Tommy Cooper and Kenny Everett are to be saluted in a new ITV1 programme about classic programmes.

Must See TV is a six-part series celebrating some of the landmark series to be produced by the independent broadcaster in its 50-year history.

Each programme will be hosted by a different presenter explaining why they loved the show.

Sir Trevor McDonald will hail Cooper’s genius, while Julian Clary will sing the praises of Kenny Everett.

Other shows will include Joan Collins on The Avengers and Bradley Walsh on The Sweeney.

The series has been commissioned from independent production house Talent Television.

Each episode will feature clips from the original programmes, contributions from the original stars and writers and producers of the show.

Tony Humphreys, Talent TV managing director said: ‘There is a definite appetite for nostalgia programming and the combination of celebrity and iconic shows should be a real draw for viewers.’
