Jerry honoured at new comedy fest

Jerry Seinfeld is to be honoured at America’s newest comedy festival.

The HBO network, which has run the successful industry festival in Aspen, Colorado, for the past 11 years, is launching a second event in Las Vegas in November.

And Seinfeld will be awarded the Comedian award at the first event, which run from November 17 to 19 at Caesars Palace and the Flamingo.

The  festival line-up  includes performances by Chris Rock, Curb Your Your Enthusiasm’s Larry David, Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond and Larry Sanders star Garry Shandling.

Special events include Earth to America, an show highlighting global warming expected to be attended by Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin and Ben Stiller; and  Inside the Writers Room, in which Everybody Loves Raymond scribes reveal how a sitcom is created.
