Deal for 42 new South Parks

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been signed up to create another three series of their hit show.

American cable network Comedy Central yesterday announced that it has renewed the duo’s contract through to 2008.

Parker and Stone will write, direct and edit every one of the 42 new episodes included in the deal.

The new agreement will push the total number of episodes created since 1997 close to the 200 milestone.

Comedy Central  chief  Doug Herzog said: ‘Matt and Trey are creative geniuses and a huge part of the Comedy Central family and we look forward to continued success.’

Meanwhile, the current ninth series of South Park, currently taking a summer break, will resume on October 19 in the States.
