Jokes for strokes

Major charity benefit announced

Some of the biggest names in comedy are joining forces for a major benefit gig in aid of stroke victims.

Ricky Gervais leads the line-up for the Can You Smile? gig, which takes place at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on September 15.

Also on the bill are Bill Bailey, Ed Byrne, Robert Newman and Mark Thomas – with more names to be announced.

The title of the show – being staged by producer Phil McIntrye - refers to one of the tests to determine whether someone has undergone a stroke.

Tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow (Thursday). Click here to buy them when they do.
