Woman's work...

All-female comedy tour launched

An all-women comedy line-up, headed by Fast Show star Arabella Weir, is to tour the UK this autumn.

The Naked Truth Comedy Tour follows - but is entirely separate from - the Funny Women initiative, which aims to promote female stand-up with a competition and showcase gigs.

In fact, 2004's Funny Woman winner Zoe Lyons is one of the six comics taking part in the new tour.

The others are Lucy Porter, pictured, Julia Morris, Janice Connolly's alter-ego Mrs Barbara Nice and Kerry Godliman.

The ten-date tour is heavily sponsored by Dove cosmetics, with the notion that the shows will 'celebrate women's bodies in all their glory' and 'lay bare the naked truth about what it's really like to be a woman'.

It kicks off at the Comedy Store in London on September 12, ending at the Manchester branch on October 11.
