Comic seeks love... on TV

Irish comedian Karl Spain is using his new TV show to try to find a girlfriend.

The stand-up has already started advertising for single women aged 24 to 34 to date for his new programme – unsubtly called Karl Spain Wants A Woman.

Over the summer, he will be exploring all the avenues of modern romance from speed dating, lonely hearts ads and internet dates, and he will reveal the results on air.

The show will air from September 5 on Ireland’s RTE Two

The Limerick-born comic is just the latest stand-up to use his career to help sort out his social life.

As part of his Herculean Edinburgh show last year, Richard Herring dated a different woman every night for a month. And for his show this year, Carey Marx aims to find a woman and get married by the end of the Fringe.

Women interested in taking part in Spain’s programme should  email karlspain@midasproductions.ie or leave a message on +353 (0)1 634 3737 by next Thursday (28)
