Hill be back

ITV orders new TV Burps

Harry Hill’s TV Burp has been recommissioned for a fifth series.

ITV1 will screen ten half-hour episodes – longer than previous runs – early next year, following the second leg of his Hooves live tour this autumn.

Hill said: “It’s great bringing TV Burp back for an extended run - it’s TV’s own coconut shy, with TV programmes instead of the coconuts and me throwing wooden balls… although they’re not wooden balls; they’re jokes… and I don’t get to keep the coconuts or TV programmes at the end of it.”

Richard Allen-Turner, joint managing director of producers Avalon Television, said: “TV Burp demonstrates that it is possible to deliver broad, high-end comedy entertainment programming to the mainstream schedule of a commercial network with a strong, original idea without compromising the integrity of the performer.”

Avalon is also currently in production with two ITV shows: quiz show Fact Hunt starring Pub Landlord Al Murray and a fifth series of Baddiel and Skinner & Unplanned.
