Murray to star in new reality show

Pub landlord Al Murray is to appear in a new reality TV show.

He is one of the contestants in Hell’s Kitchen, in which short-tempered chef Gordon Ramsey will attempt to train ten celebrities to become chefs.

They have a week to get up to scratch before the restaurant opens – and contestants who don’t make the grade will be voted off until one remains.

The live two-week show will be screened on ITV1 in the summer , hosted by Angus Deayton.

Murray told Chortle: "Who wouldn't want to get taught how to cook by Gordon Ramsay? Rest assured I'll be Doing My Bit for 'normal food for normal people'."

Other contestants include Abi Titmuss, Edwina Currie, Roger Cook, and James Dreyfus from Gimme Gimme Gimme.

Ramsay said: “It's a great celebrity line-up but I'm more concerned about their cooking ability - or lack of it.”

"I won't be looking at them as celebrities - from day one of training they are cooks and we're in it together. We've only got a week to prepare and it's a huge task.”
