The Bitch is back

Joan Collins plans ITV sitcom

Joan Collins could be heading back to TV screens in a new sitcom written by Gimme Gimme Gimme creator Jonathan Harvey.

The comedy - provisionally called Sing Out Louise - would be the first major TV role for the 70-year-old, since Dynasty came off air in 1989.

Collins, whose chequered career includes roles in The Bitch and the Stud, would play an ageing star who has given up treading the boards to run a dog grooming parlour, according to MediaGuardian.

The site quotes a source billing the show as "The Golden Girls meets Absolutely Fabulous meets Whatever Happened To Baby Jane".

But the project, which would be filmed at Ealing Studios, is still in the early stages of development and it hasn't yet been pitched to any broadcaster, although ITV1 is reportedly the duo's first choice.
