Jasper Carrott is to make a rare live appearance in London... but tickets cost £139.

The Brummie comic will not be giving a stand-up performance, but instead giving an after-dinner interview.

And, as if to justify the regal price tag, he will be in conversation with the BBC,s former royal correspondent Jennie Bond.

Admission does include a three-course dinner at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel in London's Grosvenor Square - but if you want to stay the night it will cost more than £220.

Organisers Prestige Promotions promise "a sparkling evening at the luxurious five-star hotel " on December 18.

However, for fans with less deep pockets, his early stand-up albums are going for under £2 on ebay.
