Is it really goodnight Seattle?

Grammer hints at Frasier encore

Frasier may not be coming to an end after all, star Kelsey Grammer has said.

The sitcom had been slated to end after its current season, its 11th, but the possibilities of another run have increased recently.

Grammer this week told American talk show Craig Kilborn that he might be willing to return.

He said: "If someone called and said, 'We really want you back for another year,' I'd probably figure out some way to make that happen. But that call hasn't come."

The NBC network may well be interested in keeping the show. Reeling from the loss of Friends, and suffering from a series of flops including its version of BBC2's Coupling, it is desperate needs of ratings-winners.

Network chief Jeff Zucker, who managed to persuade Friends to return for an extra series after it was expected to end, said: "The door is still ajar, and you know what happened the last time I left the door ajar."
