Murray fronts BT campaign

Pub Landlord Al Murray is to front a talent hunt based around BT internet kiosks.

Users of the blue phone boxes which offer video e-mail are invited to record a 30-second party piece for the competition

Murray will judge the entrants, with the winner getting to throw a huge party, worth almost £5,000.

The comic has recorded his own clip, which can be viewed here.

He said: "It's science gone mad! A phone with a telly on? Or is it a telly with a phone on? What am I supposed to do? Watch the phone and answer the telly!? Back off Brussels!"

Meanwhile, Murray last night performed his own David-Blaine style stunt while on tour last night.

At Southampton's Nuffield Theatre, which is also staging Hamlet this week, the Guv'nor discovered a large perspex box backstage, which he decided to incorporate into his act.

Locking himself in with a crate of beer, he joked: "I don't know what all the fuss is about. This is easy."
