Mark Steel is to go on tour to coincide with his new TV series.

The Mark Steel Lectures makes the transition from Radio 4 to digital channel BBC4 in October.

His 23-date tour starts off in Falmouth on Saturday September 13, ending up in Aldershot on November 30. Click here for full dates.

In the BBC4 series Mark will profile six contrasting, legendary historical figures - Aristotle, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Lord Byron, Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx - revealing the hidden side of their personality and work.
