Phoenix Nights star Dave Spikey is to film his first stand-up video.

His gig at the City Varieties music hall in Leeds this Thursday is to be recorded for release on VHS and DVD.

Spikey has been a comic for more than a decade, but it was only with his role as club compere Jerry St Clair in Peter Kay's sitcom that he achieved recognition.

He has recently extended his tour into the autumn - and has also started marketing Dobber Clobber merchandise: T-shirts bearing such catchphrases as 'Live The Dream".

The DVD and video will be released by VVL on November 17 - the same day Kay releases his show Live At The Bolton Albert Halls.
